Mauro Prado founded Empire Security Services, Inc. in May 2006; With over 16 years of experience in the security industry and luxury service, M. Prado put together the most Complete Security Solution, specializing in Security for Luxury Properties, Business Continuity Plan (BCP) Training, and Security Risk Assessments.
Empire Security Services brings a wealth of experience in Security and Luxury. President and Founder, Mauro Prado, opened the Luxurious 5-Diamond, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Miami, which he joined in September 2000 as part of the pre-opening team. In his position of Director of Safety and Security, M. Prado was responsible for the safety and security of the hotel, all hotel employees and guests. M. Prado put together safety and security standards and procedures, and ran all the security operations of this 327-room hotel, located on Private Brickell Key. M. Prado headed a security team of 14. In his seven-year tenure with Mandarin Oriental, M. Prado put together an intense, on-going training program for hotel Management and general employees, which included Bomb Threats, Fire Evacuation, OSHA Safety Training, Hurricane Preparedness, Suspicious Behavior, among others. M. Prado ran the security for the 1700 attendees-a-night, Barefoot at Oasis beach party, with his Security Team and off-duty City of Miami Police. M. Prado chaired the Hotel’s Risk Management Committee.
In November 2000, M. Prado worked closely with Secret Service, the Royal Security of Spain, and the City of Miami Police Department to coordinate the arrival of the King and Queen of Spain to Mandarin Oriental, Miami.
In November 2003, during the Free Trade Area of the Americas, FTAA, and the Hemispheric Negotiations at Mandarin Oriental Miami, M. Prado was directly responsible for coordinating the safe arrival and departure of numerous governmental individuals, such as Homeland Security Officials, Florida Governor, Jeb Bush, among others, and senior executives for some of biggest companies in the United States, such as Federal Express, GM, UPS, Home Depot, among others. M. Prado worked together with City of Miami Police Department, FDLE, Department of Homeland Security, and a number of other private and federal protection agencies.
In April 2004, M. Prado was assigned to Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC , during the opening of the Hotel and trained the security staff on incident report management and business continuity plans, BCP.
In September the same year, Mandarin Oriental, Miami was honored with the visit of Vice President, Mr. Richard Cheney. M. Prado worked closely with the Secret Service, City of Miami Police and SIS Agencies to coordinate the strictly confidential arrival of this high profile dignitary.
In September 2006 M. Prado traveled to Hong Kong to assist Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, The Legend, in their re-opening, after a full hotel renovation. During a three week period, M. Prado was in charge of the Security Department, conducting the first general fire drill with over 600 employees and 2000 construction workers, creating standards and procedures, designing a master key control system, BCPs, and hands-on support for a successful hotel re-opening.
Prior to Mandarin Oriental Miami, M. Prado held different positions in the Security Department with InterContinental Hotel, Miami; The latter being in charge of Security Training and Development. In 1995, M. Prado worked with the FTAA as the first negotiations started with 23 Presidents of different countries of the Americas and the Caribbean. M. Prado served a tenure of six years and a half with InterContinental Hotels.
Mauro Prado started his career in the security industry in 1991 working with the OMNI Hotels.
